Again I have broken a promise, my tweeting has has fully stopped and I’m blogging at a really slow rate.

Ireland’s number 1 economist is now running for the Daíl. George Lee, a respected economist from China (sarcasm) that came to Ireland to warn us of an impending disaster. Now that no one listened to the poor guy he is making a stand to try and fix the economic problems we’re facing.

Speaking of politics I read an artical about allowing 16 year olds to vote. Since I’m 17, I am totally for it, next I’ll likely say that those damn punks don’t have the brains to vote! right.

After re-reading my wolverine post I’ve relized it wasn’t a very good review and I’m sorry for wasting precious brain cells that could have been well used. Again I’m sorry.

The Internet, an infinitely powerful tool. An infinite liquid filling the cracks of our technologies. No ownership, a wild beast in the name of liberty. Able of good and evil acts. But mostly evil apparantly since there has so many attempts at tame the poor little beast before shows grows even more. Millions of actions are made on the internet every moment and alot of them are looked down upon. So its suggested naturally that the web should be regulated, controlled. That all users are to be monitored, That all internet services should be controlled. The twist is that these ideas are presented by people that seem to praise liberty like a religion. Falsh liberty could dash one’s opinion of the situation. The world of Orwell predicts mass supervision and regulation in the name of a dictatorship that bends the meaning of liberty, so are these desires by our leaders the same fears that Orwell had? Am I just naive?

Anyway I went to a Car Safety expo today, they presented the views of 6 stakeholders the aftermath of a collision’s tragety. The first a Garda officer (police) who present what it was like to be first at the scene and the breaking of the news to the parents. The second a paramedic who describes the haste attempts of savings whats lifes are left,third a fireman expressing the gore of having to remove somebody from a car, fourth an A&E nurse describe the trip to the hospital, fifth a victem who will never walk after his crash and sixth a mother begging us not to let our mothers feel the same way she did when she lost her child. Alot of the lads in my class put on the tough look and said “it didn’t do anything to me anyway”. The comment just made me and adolensent race feel worse about ourselfs..

Xmen Origins:Wolverine

Hi everybody sorry for breaking my promise about blogging everyday. Just never got around to it. Who reads this thing anyway?

Today we went to see the film X-Men Origins:Wolverine, which was ok. The action scenes were easy on the eye and exciting. Yet the story seems to fall short.. The film of course is about Wolverine and how his story and in one scene of the film the X-Men’s group story begun. The plot goes on to reveal Wolverine and his brother Sabretooth who go on to become super soldiers after fighting a good few big wars, (WWI,WW2,Vietnam etc) in a group ran by the film’s villain William Stryker. Wolverine isn’t exactly exciting about their violent ways and flips them the middle claw to go and start working as a lumber jack. He starts living his own life and falls in love, everything is going great until his brother Sabretooth just has to go and spoil it all by killing the girl forcing Wolverine to go on a murderous rampage. Again the film has some very nice action scenes, but the weak story is really just the bits in-between Hugh Jackman (who was great) showing off his claws. The direction although linear feels very messy and some of the visuals are often unconvincing . Overall it is clearly not going for much in the brains depo. But it can be a fun way to spend two hours if you like action films.

In contrast to the comic book movie war, I think it loses to its competitor Watchmen. Sure Watchmen cut out half the characters from the book and changed the ending but was an engaging 3 hours of disturbed ex-superheros with a thick plot and alot and cool mono logs.
Wolverine may have had way more action then in Watchmen but it lost out in the story department. Sadly the comic book films aren’t as dynamic as last years bunch. The fun Iron Man and the masterpiece ‘The Dark Knight’.

Feel free to correct me if I was wrong anywhere and don’t just rely on my opinion. I’m just a 17 year old that loves science fiction.

Happy Big Shell Incident Day!

Went to Killarney today, (its a town in Ireland). I haven’t properly been there in a year or so. It was part of a school trip to touch the relic of St Therese for religion class. The cathedral was funny lol, where did all the money go? funny, for every few chairs there seemed to be a flat screen tv that showed you the alter where the Bishop was saying mass. We were surrounded by volunteers wearing jackets named after the church too. After the mas we had a hour to explore Killarney in the daring adventure of finding the school bus. We split into groups in an unorganized fashion. I was the O’Brien Sandwich bar clan and another one I knew was the subway clan, by clans I mean the cafes we went to while waiting for the bus. I felt awkward in the O’Briens place sipping boiling hot black coffee. Moving on the bus came, I left the wonderful green planet called Killarney and as we where leaving I saw the tainted hills of the countryside. Where natural beauty once survived, yet now its fate is that of being covered in half finished houses by people “wanting the quite life”. People flocking from towns while not realizing that their popular actions where actually causing the town to move in on the countryside and in turn turning our amazing country in to a concrete jungle. It has slowed to a halt now, at least.

In other news for metal gear solids fan like my friend, April the 29th 2009 should jog your memory about Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty which featured Plisken (ahem Snake), The wimpy protagonist Raiden and the Marvel comics rip-off Solidus Snake. Today the President of the United States has been kidnapped in the Big Shell clean up facility. And alot of stuff is going to be happening right now, I have a feeling some big tanker kind of thing will be accelerated though Manhattan sometime tonight.

Sorry for the generic heading, Hello my name is Tim and your going to be reading my hateful,opinionated,fascist,inappropriate, depressing and boring crap for the rest of one of our lives!. So to keep the pace going 24 was on last night and so far day 7 rocks!. Even though there was quite a terrible die hard 2 smell to the first two episodes, Chloe’s sexy computer talk has managed to save the show! In other news, I gave ubuntu 9 a go, who knew linux could crash lol? Gnome was slow and annoying, Firefox was a minefield of bugs and the program updaters couldn’t connect to the Internet. Yet I did a second run of it and everything worked just fine and it’s likely the cause of wubi. Right now I’m thinking whats the point of starting this blog? I’m considering how it has no service to the human race as of now but what about the future?

This leads me to thinking about Metal Gear Solid 2…. At the end of the game Snake gives you an hour long philosophy lecture, in it he states the importance of recording information.The information of our current society,culture and the science of our existence. But what is the point of a record?, is the information important?

In our human nature the instinct for the collection of knowledge proves to be addictive and even exciting for some reason. I’m sure someone would like to know what was it like to be 17 in 2009. What was the climate like? the economy? politics?. To answer their improbable questions I’m going to start blogging everyday and tweeting as much as possible about what I witness and think of. In the silent praywe that someday, somebody will be interested in this information.
